Motorola e815

I just got an e815 yesterday, and used it last night for about three hours. The sound quality was pretty muffled, and I had 4/5 bars. If the volume was low (on 0 or 1) it was fine, but then it wasn't quite loud enough. Any louder and the muffled quality got very distracting. Is this normal, or is my phone messed up?

You shouldn't have any problems getting a replacement. I got mine replaced after it was randomly restarting without any issues.

Mine sounded muffled when I first got it. Either I got used to it or it isn't that way any more. I was also coming off a T610 which may have made a difference.

Seriously? You just got it, right? Take it straight back to where you got it from and tell them to hand over another. I believe you have 10 days or two weeks to decide if you want to keep the service. Tell them if they won't swap out the phone, you'll bail on the whole contract.

Problem is that I got this phone on FS/FT.

Kind of obvious why they sold it, eh? Hope the seller does right by you!

pwned.
You could at least try to take it to the Verizon store and see if they have maybe a firmware update for the phone that could possibly fix this issue.

my e-815 does get slightly distorted when the volume is up as high as it goes. never muffled though. have you tried repositioning it on your ear? I have to old mine a little lower than provious phones.

As far as I know, there haven't been ANY firmware updates since the phone was released. I've had mine for that long, and I haven't had any issues with it. At least Verizon's tech guys may know what's up with it, or you could try contacting Motorola directly for warranty repair. Also, check out Howard Forums and see if others there have a workaround for it. That's one of the most popular phones over there, somebody can probably help you out.

Here's the thing. I can't tell whether its the seller or its just me not used to the phone. I can't accuse the seller because I'm not sure if its normal.
