Hello,

I have a Droid 4 that just had the screen crap out. I mean that the phone works perfectly sans the screen (it doesn't respond to touch).

I can see messages incoming, etc., but I cannot get past the lock screen since I have a swipe unlocking feature.

Can I get around this so I can get on my phone? Do I have to buy a dock?

Try a hard reset. Hold down the power button and the volume down button until it reboots. See if that fixes your touch screen.

No go...anything else? I just want to bypass the screen so I can see who the F is texting me. Time for a new phone anyway...

Thanks, btw.

The docking station (at least Droid 1 vintage) was a simple magnet based affair.

Find a low powered, preferably small point source magnet (like refrigerator magnet size, I believe I used the little kid version of the "ball bearing and pegs with magnets" to do this) and you should be able to trigger it. Slide around on the back and see what happens.

Haha, thanks--sounds like the droid4 doesn't have the magnet trick in it.

I upgraded and will now sell my Galaxy S5 on craigslist. Thanks everyone for helping!
