Sigh @ AT&T.

It makes me angry that Sprint will have the shittiest phones now. I'd probably drop personal cellular service altogether and go with my work iPhone from now on.

I can't see myself paying for limited bandwidth from another company, or dealing with old tech from Sprint.

Well I had expected the pace of development in the smart phone market to be faster than it is. The iPhone competitors need to ramp up the pace of development because you can count on Apple hitting back next June/July with some game-changer. What I want to see is:

1. Bigger screens with much higher resolution.

2. Faster multicore uP's with a bunch more RAM.

3. Since a smart phone with a 4.3+ screen is going to be physically large relative to older feature phones I want an SDXC slot so I can put a LOT of flash storage onboard.

4. A much bigger battery of at least 2500mAHr.

So, give me a phone with a 5" screen and at least 960x600 resolution with small bezels. Do away with the kickstand and give me a 3000mAHr battery. Move to a dual core uP with 1GB RAM and 16GB of built in flash storage. Let me add a 128GB SDXC card to it...

Did you see the laptop dock in that presentation ?
The shell with just the LCD, keyboard and battery.
That one would make sense.
It wouldn't make sense right now as Tegra is still too slow for desktop usage but as mobile gets faster, I can see the usefulness of it.

Thanks for pointing it out. I didn't see it i the first video review I saw, but later when Engadget Josh T revisited it, I saw the notebook. I wonder how much extra that is? If it's something like $250, you could get a netbook with better performance for that price. I hope it's a low price like $75 then it'd be a no brainer.

Wow this is pretty amazing and would eliminate the need to bring a laptop when traveling. Except, not quite.

Except for the lack of a webcam. When I'm travelling, video calling on my laptop is a BIG DEAL.

That presentation with the dock was really, really neat. Phones don't seem to be quite there yet, but it's interesting seeing them become powerful enough that they could almost replace a notebook or desktop for majority of users who just use their computer for Facebook, YouTube, listening to music, word processing, stuff like that. I could definitely see something like that catching on eventually.
