I just started a short stint in downtown Sacramento. As far as I know, there is no free parking there.
Some Sac streets do have free motorcycle parking but the car spots are metered.
I just got a paid motorcycle spot through my employer. $10 a month. Car spots, when you can get them, are $100 a month.
I wouldn't work downtown if I couldn't ride. The traffic is ridiculous. Mostly because people can't maintain the proper following distance and it hoses up traffic.
I just split lanes and cruise on my way to and from work.

I was driving most of the summer because traffic wasn't bad but now that school is back in session it is pretty heavy again so I'm riding more. Lane splitting is a god send. My commute is 60 miles round trip so I can save about 40 minutes by riding the bike.
