I'm starting to accessorize my bike, and aside from saddlebags, the first thing I want to get is a windshield. I'm looking at Rifle and they have windshield lowers available for my bike. I'm just wondering if anybody that has them thinks they're worth it. Do they cut down on the wind much? I plan on doing some serious distance riding and want to be as comfortable as possible.

windsheilds do help in cutting down resistance at high speed. I do not have one and am beginning to think that I need a fairing. I have the GS500E, while its awesome for normal rides it does get tiring at higher speeds on a windy day.

Get the windsheild.. it will save you a lot wind pressure and make riding a lot easier.

you have a sports bike like mine (ok mine is a semi sports.. but its classified sports for some reason).

Anyway the lower windshields would probably help keeping your legs warm. I have seen cruiser riders with their pants flapping in the wind.. its very annoying. I have had teh problem once on my bike but it wasnt that bad.

By the way I am getting my bike back from the shop in a few days.. yay!

HOLD IT.. I thought you had the Gixxer?

Nope, SirFshAlot drives a Gixxer. I'm a cruiser rider. I imagine it's a bit different for sport bikes, since your posture is much different while riding. Your feet are behind you, so you're more streamlined to begin with. A cruiser puts your feet way forward.

I have no use for a windshield cause i'm an offroad rider...that is until I have enough cash to pick up a crotch rocket.
