I am thinking of getting a motorcycle with a sidecar (not now, maybe after I graduate) but my friends say its pretty ghey.

I think the sidecar is pretty funny.

what do you guys think? and if you say its ghey tell me why.

where can I buy motorcycles that look like the ones that were in ww2?

The only possible way a sidecar is cool is if you have one of those German motorcycles. Not that the Nazis were good, I just love WWII vehicles.

The Royal Enfield that TGG linked too is kind of a cool vintage style bike. I've heard they tend to fall apart in a hurry though.

Urals are supposed to be a bit better, AFAIK.

Vintage motorcycles are pretty damn cool, but it takes a certain kind of person to appreciate them. My guess is that all your friends are little crotch rocket kiddies. Nothing wrong with rockets either, but they're not the end all and be all of bikes.

There's this old guy who lives near me who has a bike with a sidecar shaped like a coffin. I think that's pretty cool. :)

You need to drive one first, they really change your bike into a car, no more leaning, countersteering etc. If you're used to an ordinary cycle, they're really hard to get used to.

Bober, I am thinking of getting an Enfield. Somehow I would prefer an Enfield to an Ural. Maybe its just me. Either case both are unavailable in CA as a new product.

I would buy the Enfield in a flash if it would make CA emmissions. The only way I can bring it in if I can find one with 7500+ miles on it.

The bike is relatively relaiable, but you got to break it in properly and maintain it for it to last. Its a solid bike though.

I want one so badly... oh well i have to keep dreaming until i can find a private seller who took care of the bike and is willing to tweak teh odometer so I can buy it.

It's cool only if your passenger is a monkey wearing a matching set of goggles and scarf.

Even worse than that, they lean the wrong way. Turn towards the chair, and the chair will lift off the ground, which can be a little scary if you're not used to it, but can be a lot of fun, especially if the passenger doesn't expect it. :D
