Motorcycle Insurance w/ State Farm.....

I've been with State Farm for about 8 years now. Recently we cancelled our car insurance with them and switched over to Geico, about 8 months ago.

I was paying $600/year for motorcycle insurance. NOW, that I cancelled my cars with them, they jacked up my bike insurance to $1765/year! WHAT THE HELL!

They said it was because I no longer have my cars with them. Even though, I still have my boat and home owners thru them, it apparently doesn't matter.

Geico just offered me $550 / year for my bike insurance so I might as well switch over to them for that as well.

Anyone else have issues like this?

No I haven't. I just find it EXTREMELY hard to beleive that my motorcycle insurance would skyrocket like it did just by removing my 2 cars from them.

What a crock.

I know I'll pay alot being 24 years old, but I Have a good driving record.

well if you have the cars and bike with them how much cheaper will it be/.?

I looked into this a long time ago,and when combining different vehicles,
and the House,I saved a Lot per year with State Farm.

Waiting for the lady as we speak to give me the quote for 2 cars , my bike, boat, and home owners.

Ifs its crappy, I'm taking my bike to Geico and I'll just leave my cars with Geico as well.

In Washington at least, motorcycle insurance is not required AND even if you do get it it doesn't cover you, only the car you hit.

I had two cars, renters insurance, life insurance, a million dollar umbrella policy, all with one place.

When I moved, my Hayabusa was going to cost the same 1200 to insure in Podunk, NY as in the Boston area. Something didn't add up. I went to progressive, and put the bike there. I now pay less than 200 for what is pretty much the same policy.

that is standard...
bikes are pretty much blacklisted unless you have a car or mroe than 1 car on the same policy thats about the only way to get a decent rate..

they do not liek insuring bikes alone at all.. in fact most wont anymore unless you have a car with them...
bike insurance sucks... squids ruin it for eveyrone

that sounds normal to me, they want all your business, they were giving you a break for the whole package

I'm not sure what you're b|tching about. If I read that right, you just saved yourself $50.

I'm just complaining that State Farm would triple my rate for no other reason then because I no longer insured my cars thru them.

From what I understood, I didnt' get any "multi-vehicle" discount from them anways for it because a motorcycle is considered to be "recreational", not an actual vehicle.

Oh well, Geico here I come 🙂
