Don't agree with him on many points. Don't consider it a fair preview. But then again, he probably isn't in the market for such a car.

In some ways, I do agree with them, but part of me would say "if I have the money for it, sure I'll buy one just to sit in traffic".

It's not a drivers car - the technology does the driving for you and its a pig in weight. Much like the GT-R. Very fast, but not satisfying to drive.

MT drove a pre-production model, expect the software to change for it to have better calibrated brakes, steering, stability and traction control for official launch.

A GTR fighter that's anything but...

A decade in the making and this is what Honda has to show for it. What kills me is the fact that there's no heart and soul within the new NSX anymore. There's no identity...it's simply just another tally on the "expensive sports car" list.

Nice preview. There are a lot of enthusiasts that harp on "pure" experiences or driver connection. I'm telling you that a raw sports car will not sell to the people that buy these things. Can you imagine Acura putting a stripped out "raw" sports car in the middle of a showroom in Chicago surrounded by their lineup of high tech cars? Acura is using this as a talking point and flagship for all the tech that they will shove into their luxury line up so they can continue to woo high end buyers with tech wizardry.

I'd like to see a pure NSX, but I wouldn't buy one either way so my opinion means nothing. :)

I certainly understand why it gets such a bad rap, but I think it looks great and has cool tech behind it.

The only aspect to a sports car for me is how fun it is to drive. If it does 0-60 in 3 seconds and can lap the ring in 7-minutes flat, but doesn't sound good, has disconnected feeling steering, has 4wd and an automatic transmission, I'd rather drive a Miata, MR2, Lotus Elise, S2000, original NSX, and so-on any time I'm allowed to have fun. For commuting I'd take a Tesla anyway.

It looks way, way better in person. I hated it until I saw it in person. They stopped at a local dealer on their cross country testing tour. Luckily I was the first one there so I got this nice shot.

Some optical illusion, the original NSX looks like a model car...

I feel like he keeps saying supercar and his argument is it isn't a supercar, but original NSX was a poor man's supercar. And, I just don't get the idea about all purely mechanical things are required to "feel" the car or to enjoy it.

Seems very Japanese. In the sense that Technology and not Driving Experience is the focus.

did they say the first nsx successor was going to be a front engine v10???

it looks nice, and the 3 electric/1 gas motor tech is cool

i wonder how many they'll sell at $150-200k a pop and how many years they'll make it.

it's interesting they designed this in the usa and are producing it in ohio

Actually, I think the Acura looks a whole lot better than the R8.

It's OK, but it's not what Acura needs right now. They need front engine RWD sport sedans and coupes to differentiate from Honda.

Are you familiar with mid engine cars?

o_O Are you implying that all mid-engined cars look the same?

Mid-engined yet looks nothing like an R8...

Also mid-engined and looks nothing like an R8.

Mid-engined... still not seeing much resemblance here.

Yet another mid-engined car that looks nothing like an R8.

having sat in both the new NSX and an R8, while they may look similar from the outside in some respects, the feeling from the inside is completely different. Visibility in the NSX is way, way better, and you get a similar feeling as the original of there not being much hood between you & the road.
