Motor mounts for a 99 Civic...how much should I be looking to pay to get them replaced?

Went to a local mechanic because I heard a "clicking" sound occasionally when I get on or off the throttle - it started last week.

Supposedly the motor mounts are going and need to be replaced. I'm looking at paying about $550 here. Any thoughts on the price? I was considering just trading the car in at this point as i'm on the fence regarding getting a new car (2006-7 Subaru Legacy non-turbo), but after checking the cost of insurance here in NJ ($2000/year) i'm having second thoughts...

motor mounts on my vw cost me 12 bucks a piece. i installed them myself of course, as there was no motor in it. sounds like the mechanic is going to have to pull the motor then remount it perhaps.
