although if there is even a chance of rain that day --- i will usually take my car.

Ok. What happens if you think it won't rain and ride your motocycle and it does rain while you are pretty far away from home? What do you do then? Just get wet and still keep driving?

depends on how bad the rain is... if it is POURING really hard then i'll most likely want to pull off somewhere and let the storm pass. If that isnt an option, then i'll just take it slow and try to make it back home as carefully as I can.

Motorcycles are capable of driving in the rain -- you just need to take extra caution when breaking and turning becuase you've only got 2 small tires worth of traction.

You continue driving - it's only water. It's not going to kill you.

Unless you have slick tyres and are a digital drivier

What if its cold outside?

Then you get wet .and. cold.

Yes and thats not a problem but that can effect your driving skills.

having the proper gear helps. If you're wear shorts, a tshirt, and no gloves -- then yes, your driving skills will be effected becuase you're cold, wet, and miserable.

hwoever a nice rain suit would keep you dry and warm... especially with nice gloves.

Black asphalt sucks in the rain, you will slide. Hard rain is bad if your one the Eisenhower going ~65mph+. It will hurt your face and can bead up on you face shield and if its hot and humid the fog from breathing is a bitch.

But once you wet, its ok. Cant get wetter. And the roads ride better if its not a fresh rain and top layer of oil has flooded away.

The fact that rainsuits for motorcycle riders sell very well kinda shows that many people continue riding.

As for me, it depends. If I have to be somehwere, I'll continue. If I don't have to be somehwere and there is a dry place to stop and wait out the storm, I'll do that.

If the storm become particularly heavy, I'll stop no matter what.

Thanks everyone. Thats the biggest disadvantage I see with motocycles.

that's the biggest disadvantage you see to motoRcycles?

how about the fact that you aren't as visible as a car?

or that you have much less protection than a car?

or the mere fact that you can fall off?

these were always what worried me most when riding. that and the fact that no matter how careful i am, i can't make drivers more careful around me.
