Pro Circuit Pipe
Ceramic Coated Piston
New Rod and Bearings
Heavy Duty Fron/Rear Springs (I weigh 205, stock was little too soft)

I have a Trail90/1978 model, used to work as a motorcyle mechanic years ago and did all the boring/honing and did do some port work as well for our shop and the local racers, but never got into the racing part of it.
I still have in my attic a set of Cyl's for a Kawasaki 500 triple all bored out and honed ready to go. Any body?

I don't any more (I'm getting too old and brittle) but I have done more motoX than you can shake a stick at. My past bikes

RM 100
rm 125
rm 370....whoosh
rm 125 water cooled

I gave it up because I could no longer afford to spend time at the hospital getting this set or that bandaged. I'm self employed and if I cant walk or work for a week I wont get paid. I diod pick up a hobby that kept me in the thick of things for a long time after. I used to follow the circuit around and take 12-15 rolls of 36 pictures every week. I would develope them myself and sell 8x10's to the racers at $4 a pop. I would make deals for 3-4 pics and always made around $200-$300 per weekend. It paid for all my equipment and permitted me to stay at hotels rather than camping. I had stuff published in Moto Cross Action Mag. as well as in the local papers (montreal). You know how much MX Action pays for one pic? ....$4.00....what a laugh. I never cashed the check but kept it framed for a long time. I even got press credentials for the GP at Unadilla....best track in the world IMO.

I raced the AMA Pro Circuit in the mid to late 70's, Supercross and Motocross. Bob Hannah and Roger DeCoster were the guys to beat, I was a top ten rider and ended my career early because of injury.

In the last years that I was active, I raced the Suzuki RM400, RM370 and my favorite the RM250.

There a few thrills that will top that of powering out of the Screw U at Unadilla and sailing over the top of 15,000 screaming, lubed up, bottle throwing, car burning, Hill People!!

Motocross is a great sport, I am now involved in WSA Snocross....... as a sponsor.

Mr Palco.....

Do you mean like this

or maybe this?

Were you there (racing) when there was that Decoster/Hannah showdown? I had press credentials at that one as well as the 250 GP. The year escapes me....

You surely must have also driven at Southwick Mass? JO Jo Keller and the boys cleaned the Quebecer's clocks pretty well....that also is a beautiful track. I'm curious..what was your name and number backthen...I might have some pics of you...I have thousands. PM me if you find that info too sensitive to give out publicly

ultravox..good shot of 711 coming out of screw u. Is the other shot coming out of the U? It doesn't look it.

I don't recall the name of 711.

Trivia...the screw u was later given a politically correct name, what was it?

:)

edit.....My National # 131

[lame]Gravity Cavity[/lame]

Thats Brad Lackey and Bob "The Hurricane" Hannah both from Screw U ....Lackey shot facing the start/finish Hannah facing towards Screw U. I have a fantastic colour shot of DeCoster coming out of a turn, back-end out to there with his foot just barely draging behind to correct as only Roger could do. I was fortunate enough to meet him in St.Gabriel de Brandon, Quebec when he on Honda before he hung up his leathers. I knew this in advance so I brought that pic with me and he autographed it for me. I will dig it up later and post it...it is a smashing pic and deserves to be seen. Check out this thread later...

This topic has brought back some very good memories for me , I spent about 5-6 years going to different parts of the province every weekend following the circuit.......camping in the pits.....impromptu slide-shows some evenings. I'm sure you know the atmosphere I mean' It's like that in all forms of racing I quess.
