I want to get a new phone. i was thinking about the Moto V330, but the people said the rubber outside is annoying. I saw that they had a new v360, but it felt kind of cheap.

Rehashing an old thread:

I'm wondering about the v360 as well. We're moving to Milwaukee and gf is already on Tmobile. I'm just going to add myself onto her account and we'll upgrade to a family plan. As such I can get the v360 at CarToys for $50 today by doing so. Does anyone have any opinions about the phone?

The few reviews I've seen on the likes of amazon.com have been good overall, but I was hoping someone had personal experience here as well (either as a user or a sales rep or something). My only gripe would be the camera being VGA instead of Megapixel...but hell, that's what my digital elph and digital rebel are for anyway.

i don't see that listed on t-mobile's website do they use that phone.....and, money IS an object for me. I would never consider the v360 if it weren't down to $50 at CarToys (yesterday and today only apparently).

The rubbery outside isn't annoying at all, like I thought it would be. But you can get replacement faceplates on ebay for like 2$ if you don't like it.

...well I forgot to add *with new activation*...apparently adding me on and upgrading my gf's plan to family with a new contract counts.

hmmmm looks like Tmobile must have just added the Samsung t809 on to their website....didn't see that phone at the store, but it looks nice, and I tend to like Samsung phones. Quad-band (though it's not like I travel overseas much), megapixel camera, and everything else....too bad there probably won't be any deals on it anywhere if it's new.

That's what it's looking like so far. I don't think I can find a phone for as cheap concerning price/features (and I've been looking all day at phones and reviews). As far as reception goes, I dunno....hopefully it'll work out. My gf's v300 sucked but her v330 (that they replaced her v300 with when she harrassed them so many times about it) was great. I'm hoping the v360 (which one could call a 3rd generation v3xx phone) will be just as good or better.

Yes, all, plus video capture and mp3/aac playback. I dunno how EDGE performs though, I doubt I'll get their web service anyway.

I did get it yesterday and so far it's very nice. Can't say much about service since my old number isn't ported over yet ('cause Cricket's porting service apparently has weekends off...effing slackers).

The only thing that gets me about the v360, so far, is the differences and purposes of storing things on simm, vs phone, vs transflash. I mean, why can't something located on the transflash be used as wallpaper or ringtone? It has to be moved/copied over to the phone. How come phonebook entries on the simm can't store the same info as the phone (picture ID, voice record, phone type, etc...).

Requiring the phone to be the storage medium for ringtones and such certainly limits the number I can have at one time (unless I encode my mp3 segments to something like <32kbps, which'll just sound like crap). 'cause a 20 second ringtone at 96kbps is still 240K-ish. That eats up that internal 5MB pretty quick.

edit: Oh yeah, and files transfers/browsing the phone in windows explorer is incredibley slow.
