According to Verizon they dont allow for any file transfers thru bluetooth..
link

so I'm guessing USB and that program is the way people are transferring their photos off their phones?

What a lot of trouble just to get photos off the phone for free.

I'm sure most people looking to this are just too cheap to purchase ringtones ect thru VZW, which I dont mind paying. But I want to use this phone to take photos.. all the time. And I just dont think its right that I pay 25cents per photo I send out... I dont see this as illegal activity.. its my damn phone!

I already have the ringtone I want... BG's "Bling Bling" hahahaha

I didn't bother to open the PDF but that sounds like bullshit. Can you enable bluetooth on your phone? If so, bluetooth transfer should work. You can buy a USB bluetooth dongle at Newegg for $20 to transfer your pictures.

You shouldve read it cuz its not bs..

2/1/06 NOTE: Verizon has released an updated Firmware for the V3C (firmware version .03). This new version does NOT support OBEX, and the ability to use the Multimedia Studio feature of MPT has also been DISABLED... While a seem edit will re-enable the MMS feature of MPT, it appears the OBEX code has been REMOVED completely from the phone so there is no way to fix that.

I think with a USB cable tho I can at least start messing around with the firmware (might change it to the Alltel version link

or at least I can use a 3rd party program and get my pics off the phone as far as I understand with the usb cable.

What a pain.
I dont want to put ripped off games on the phone, or ringtones.. I just want to be able to use my camera alot and not have to pay 25cents each time i email the photos off..

why they dont remove that charge I dont know but Im not going to pay it and I will find out how.

What's OBEX and MPT? Nevertheless, just try to enable bluetooth. Do you have a spare phone with bluetooth? If you do, maybe you can get them to communicate with each other.

Verizon is a pita if they force you to pay $.25 for each photo.

It shouldnt be too hard just getting my photos off considering this post-

Thanks steve I've been trying to like my razr over the computer through usb (using motorola phone tools) but that doesn't seem to work. The only solution I have found was using a 3rd party program and I was only able to transfer pictures from my phone to my computer. I know if your flashback your razr to a previous software version the bluetooth and usb transfers would work but its not worth the risk of damageing the phone. Does anyone know if verizon will or can be forced to enable data transfer. I heard of a similar problem which ended in legal action being taken.

So its more than possible. I dont mind paying for tones ect.. just want to use my camera without sending each one individually.. just wanna pull them off the damn phone and email them myself.

Without OBEX its impossible to use bluetooth to send any files of any sort back and forth.
So its either flash back to an older firmware using a cable, or just using a cable with whatever "3rd party software" that guy posted about above in my response to JEDIYoda.

Which is what I'll prob do.
The most extreme measure I'll take is go back to the OBEX enabled VZW firmware for the Razr.

Yeah but their network tears up anyone elses if you travel cross-country.. no comparison anywhere else..

so ya pay pay pay.. but you gotta pay to play with the big boys like VZW. No one is in their league in my cell phone experience as far as coverage and great quality.

The part I don't like about services like Verizon, Sprint, Nextel is that you're stuck with their cell phones. I prefer using unlocked GSM phones and being able to switch providers whenever I want.
