Thinking about going with one or the other, leaning heavily toward the LG. Anyone have any experience with either?

If you're on Verizon, and it sounds like you are, just go with the LG. Ever since those idiots devised their little "universal GUI", based off LG's GUI (which sucks), to make using different brands of phones "easier" for little nooblets, there are no advantages to choosing one phone over another. Also gives VZW a great opportunity to cripple most phones, like no OBEX profiles on any of their Bluetooth equipped phones, etc. When a friend let me use his Motorola RAZR V3m, I was appalled at how much worse a GUI could get than Moto's own crappy GUI.

Verizon seems to have the best reception in NYC though. I've had them all and Verizon was clearly the best. The LG and Krzr look quite similar but wonder if there's any reason to go with one over the other.

Yeah, up north Verizon does have a bit of advantage over other carriers, as far as reception goes. Here in Florida though, it goes Cingular > Sprint/Verizon > T-Mobile.
You'll see no real word difference between any phones. Verizon's got a little apocalyptic future thing going on with their phones, they all behave the same exact way, with the same menus, etc. You may be able to hack the KRZR though and flash the firmware from another carrier that's got the K1m, and get the original Moto firmware back and ditch all the restrictions Verizon places on their phones (not being able to use Bluetooth for anything other than a headset, having to pay for a MMS or e-mail to send pictures, etc.). I know it was possible with the V3c (use Alltel firmware).
I'd go with the KRZR though, it's got Bluetooth 2.0 over the Chocolate flip's 1.1

Well, IMO, LG makes better phones than Motorola. I've had problems with every motorola phone I've had (3 total). I've had 4 LG phones and haven't had any problems with them.

I have a KRZR, and am satisfied with it's performance as a phone, which is basically all I use it for. I picked it because it's thin and my phone is basically always in my pocket.
