Moto G5 offering update to Oreo 8.1, how long to wait?

Off the top of my head I'd probably treat it like I used to with service packs of waiting a month before installing them, I just wondered if anyone here had any interesting experiences on this topic.

It's pretty solid, I'd do it right away. Nothing earth shattering about it, or even the upcoming Android 9 from what I can see.

I updated my G5+ to oreo last night. Now notification sounds / dial pad tones / touch sounds power on sounds fail to work. The only thing that works is the vibrate on tap. Mour oreo problems. If your phone is working..leave it alone.. you are risking massive functionally problems with oreo. I want to "system restore" back to what ever I had because it worked. Mine (Moto G 5) finally got the update last week. I installed it and everything is just fine. So far I quite like the changes that I've noticed.

One odd one that's happened for me since the update is that the google search box on the main screen sometimes doesn't do anything (ie. tap on it and nothing happens).

Otherwise I haven't had any problems.

Heh. I cleared out the cache and data for the Google app, no difference.

My wife's Nokia 7 Plus started acting squirrely yesterday too, "Android UI stopped responding" etc.
