looking for a motion sensor to turn a light on in a garage either auto or manual with a remote, home depot and Lowe's were useless.

seen day/night sensor, don't want the light on all night. any ideas appreciated.

I think of the garage sensors when you say this, though I recall this sweet government missile silo which was converted into a house and had motion sensor lights all over the place.

Pretty sure you could get one off a busted garage door and remount it to a door of choice, it would turn the light on for some preset amount of time whenever the laser was blocked.

I have a motion activated light that also has a light sensor, so it only activates at night when there is movement in front of it.

Yeah, Lowe's and Home Depot should have several types of them, that's where I got mine.

I have two, one in the garage and one outside of it, I don't care for either. I've mucked around with the sensitivity settings but they still seem sporadic. Also the one inside the garage goes into permanent "on" state when the power flickers for under a second, then I have to turn the breaker off for a few seconds to get it reset to normal. Very annoying.

forgot to mention, there is no door on this garage.. it was a barn that got converted. there is no breaker box, at least none that i can see. will check out lowes to see what they have. thanks all.

Put a piece of electrical tape over the light sensor. That way the unit thinks it's dark all the time. This should work since the red motion led comes on even during the day but not the light.
