I think anyone who starts a "look how many posts I have" thread should have their postcount immediately reset to zero. It gets tiring seeing every n00b out there post these threads as they move up the ladder of geekdom.

Just a thought

I don't see the harm they're causing. Annoying, maybe. Useless, definitely. Deserving of a punishment greater than just having the thread locked? Not IMHO.

OMG look, I just got 2577 posts. Go me!

I don't know this for sure, but I think the only way to reset the postcounts to 0 in FT is to delete all of the users old posts from the database, which would really mess things up. Perhaps the mods could just hide the postcount for that particular person. I know on other FT forums the postcounts are hidden by default.
