Many of you might remember the news that the Reverend once released some Q3demo which contained the T-Buffer motionblur feature to show off the neat effects 3Dfx do in hardware via T-Buffer. Now that I've had some time I tested it with the Kyro et voilà it works... at least kind of. It does not look as neat as on VooDoo but you get the idea of it. On VooDoo hardware you can see the motion fading, on any other card you just see a static character repeated 5 times similar to the mouse trail effect, however the interesting thing is that some ppls report the demo would quite after some seconds on their nVidia, ... graphics cards whereas others don't here I can only say Kyro users seem to be on the lucky side, this demo did not quit once here next some ppls report that this demo runs VERY slow on their system (nVidia, ...) with other graphicscards now here Kyro seems to be kind of handling this fake motion blur effect easily. I've got the 800x600x32 res trilinear enabled currently (without the compressed textures!) and the fps counter hits fps numbers higher than 100fps with a min frame rate of 25 except you're near a wall and fire the pump or the lighting gun.

Now to get the demo and the files you need to run it... click here http://www.3dpulpit.com/Q3Arena/3dfx/index.html and here http://solo.abac.com/dllarchive/G/glide3x.zip. Enjoy!

put the glide3x.dll file in the demo folder
lowest i get it is in the high teens on both demos(1024x768x32 bumped up the texture quality up 1)and there's no T buffer so it looks kinda weird
using inno3d's drivers
very very cool

What is seen on non-V5 cards is not the motion blur. It lacks a blur, it is simply the same scene layered.

i guess it is but every card except the v5500 lacks the Tbuffer so you won't get the motion fading
it looks cool though, how does it run your non3dfx card?
