Bethesda just announced that the last piece of announced DLC for Fallout 3 will come on August 5th. Mothership Zeta finds your character in the midst of an alien invasion as you are zapped from the Capital Wasteland to an Alien spacecraft. Lots of new weapons, armor, and characters included of course.

Given my complete and utter lack of success at ever seeing an alien crash landing site random event, I'm excited about this.

It was fun finding the alien crash site and the goodies amongst the wreckage. I still haven't bought any DLC for Fallout 3. I'm hoping on a fully loaded $20 Greatest hits version. :)

The alien blaster was a great one-hit-kill (in most cases) weapon for sticky situations.

I'm looking forward to the GOTY edition so I can dive into all of the DLC.

This October (assuming no delays)

A Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition will be available in October. It will include the original game plus all five add-ons for $59.99 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and $49.99 for PC.

WTF. I just (as in yesterday) bought a copy of Fallout 3. Think I will sell it now and wait for the GOTY version.

Copycat! :p

Technically, everyone copycatted me, since I posted the link to the GOTY edition on Gamestop before anyone else.

:p :p

I just picked up Fallout 3 too and I have no regrets. I figure I would rather have it now and get to play it then have to wait 3 months for the GOTY version.

How much of a tight storyline are the various DLCs? I played quite a bit of fallout 3, did all the quests with achievements. But the game never seemed to grab me like oblivion did - in oblivion, the side quests were woven into 4 separate guild storylines, but in fallout, theyre just so random. Not to mention the fallout 3 world isnt half as interesting. But how do they compare? Are they like guild quests with short storylines, or are they just more world to explore with a sprinkling of story to bind it together?

The Pitt and Operation Anchorage are basically one story each. Everything you do there revolves around them. Point Lookout is more like the original Fallout 3, with some sidemissions being "in line" with the area, but they don't have anything to do with the main Point Lookout questline. Broken Steel is a must imo, as it is a closure to the whole F3 main quest. But all 4 are worth it imo :)
