Preaching before an audience that included Abbas, Sheikh Yusuf Juma? Salamah said in Friday?s sermon on PA TV that the ideal Palestinian woman is like Al Khansah, the heroine of Islamic tradition who celebrated her four sons? death in battle by thanking God for the honor. Salamah, the PA Minister of Waqf, quoted Al Khansah:
?Al Khansah, this noble woman? The day she lost her brother Sakher [before she adopted Islam] she began crying, shouting and feeling pain. She recited poetry: ?The sunrise reminds me of Sakher, and I remember him with every sunset, and had there not been around me all the mourners for their brothers, I would have killed myself?. This was during the Jahiliyah [pre-Islam period]. When Allah filled her heart with love for Islam, and it became full of faith, things changed. She sent her four sons, her offspring, to battle, to Qadisiyah [near Iraq] as a service to this religion.

When she was notified that they had become Shahids (Died for Allah), she said, ?Praise Allah, who granted me honor with their deaths. I pray that he will take me to them at the place where His mercy dwells.?This is the great woman. This is the noble woman. You'd think at the least they'd start using IED's like in Iraq. I guess too many nuts are occupied with Iraq to lend a hand.

Honestly, they don't have enough weapons to go around, the next best thing is to sacrifice yourself to save your loved ones and defend your land and religion. Put yourself in a palestinian's shoes, all you see is Israeli soldiers taking over your land, killing your family and friends........thats all you see and you just want to fight back. What would you have them do? It has nothing to do with the religion, its more about them just wanting to reclaim what they lost.

I took a course here that talked about the situation a little.

Civil Disobedience will not work for the Palestinians the way it did for Ghandi. I mention Ghandi because that is what many people often say the Palestinians should emulate.

To see why, let us look at WHY civil disobedience worked for the Indians. For the Indians, they were under the control of the British. However, it was not direct control of the British, it was through the raj. Furthermore, the British exerscised militarily authority not rhough (well mainly not through) British soldiers~ rather they hired different groups of Indian Population to do the "dirty work" for them.
India was never under direct British control. The British controlled them indirectly, and ultimately they were half way across the world from India.

In Palestine, Palestinians are DIRECTLY subjugated by the government. The government uses its own soliders to forcibly enter their land. It is the government exerting its own will directly. Also, the land is literally taken away from the Palestinians. The government is literally on top of them. Due to such direct control, civil disobedience just isn't enough. And that is why civil disobedience will not work

Before anyone flames me to death, the class was actually titled "World History" and the professor is extremely famous himelf and is half Jewish himself (then again I've always questioned that whole "half religion" thing...I'm sure at a point in my family history I've been a pagan, and maybe even Christian or Jewish, or both)

ok now you are being absurd. you are quibbling over technicalities of power when really its irrelevant. the final power was the british. and really its nonsense anyways since dr king was "subjugated" directly by the government, not by proxy. so really, stop being an absurd apologist. the palestinians had their annual mobs killing jews decades before there was an israel. they rejected peace time and time again. its not that they were begging for peace, they were screaming for genocide for decade after decade. their grand mufti even had a deal to carry out his portion of the final solution with hitler. the palestinians don't use peaceful disobedience because they've always been taught and have made decisions that fly directly in the face of any peace. they were only under "occupation" after they had repeated rejected peace attempt after peace attempt. its because they didn't want peace, let alone two states, they wanted it all, and they wanted all the jews gone.

civil disobedience works ONLY when the righteous of your cause is valid and pure. and it was obviously not so with the palestinians poisoned by hate and bloodlust. the civil disobedience makes the righteousness plain, and makes the ones in power reassess their moral position. once again this only works if the cause is honest and pure, not a deception in a deadly game. the british saw themselves as worldly and the moral height of current civlization so the indians only had to show them it was the right thing to do by their own standards. the very things they had actually taught the indians through education. and don't pretend the israelis are immoral, their supreme court has been known to rule in favour of palestinians in certain issues of justice. a type of fairness and compassion of which the palestinians have no parrellel.

now if dr king of ghandi had taught his people that genocide was the answer, and that any concessions or "freedom/statehood" would be only the first step towards their goal of destruction of america or england, neither would have stood a chance. yet thats the stance of the palestinian militant groups. and the pa has never accepted or acknowledged israelis right to exist, only acknowledgement of current fact...a fact that can be changed. the palestinians didn't follow ghandi because they were never honest on the issue of peace.

and yes mothers praising their children blowing up people is just another sign of the cultural corruption in the middle east. the cult of death...worship of death, indoctrination of hatred from a young age from all forms of media and government. they would make goebbels proud. its exactly how you garrantee there will be no chance of peace. it doesnt help either that western governments appeased their path of terror for decade after decade. and that they recieve nothing but ever more support for their tactics in the rest of the me. they choose it because they believe in war not peace, and because it simply has worked for them.

Don't you think 90% of all of our enlisted that died did so for god and country? Whats the diff? There is none. Most of USA is religious and I'm sure all of them had some sort of religiouls send off when they were laid to rest. I'm sure that over half think that they went to Iraq because of god.

I see no need for your post. Or were you expecting all of to say wow! That evil mom. I'm sure if the shoe were on the other foot and your sons died you'd be consulting to your higher up to get over the loss of your family?
