Looking at everything and with my x800 xt pt coming I want to make sure I can use it later down the line. I see intels chipsets can allow agp and pci-x but only at 33mhz pci speed so only 133mb/s. Now looking at the via board from soltek on anands website, it looks like the agp and pci-x slots are running off the northbridge. If so that means the agp is at a full 8x bandwidth. Anyone heard any news of this or anything because this looks like my upgrade option since I dont want to spend another 500 bux at x-mas for a new vid card.

Its SEEMS right NOW if oyu want to Run a 775 P4 chip AND a AGP card at FULL speed then the VIA chipset is what you want.

AMDs boards/chipsets should ALL? allow AGP and PCIe without the limits that intel has placed on itself.

The PCIe for Video IS 16x, BUT he is talking about the 8X AGP slot. The 915 intel chipset does not have a TRUE AGP slot so the agp port is juts a REG. PCI slot made for a AGP card.

Why would you want PCI-X? PCI-X is for server class cards like big RAID5 Controllers.

PCI Express, or PCI-E is what you want.
