I really want to use the HTPC I am building with my logitech harmony...I can't find anything in the specs on newegg for various motherboards that says anything about an IR receiver. If these are not built in, is there any brand/type that is considered the standard?

Thanks,
Mitch

I don't know, but you can get RS-232 infrared receivers for a few dollars on eBay. USB receivers are a bit more, but still not that expensive.

There are plenty that have IR headers built onto the boards, but you still need a way to connect a receiver. Check this article if you're really interested in that route.

there are boards with ir receiver / transmitter headers...
all intel media series is an example...
eg:-
dg33tl , dg45id, dp35dp

only headers are inbuilt on these boards..
we have to buy the front panel receiver/transmitter
