my laptop doesnt work... if you remember my previous post... my mom told me it will cost $305 plus $95 for labor to fix. and plus $120 for the battery.. laptop is compaq from 2000. is it worth paying to keep it?

I really can't see how it would be worth it. A new Dell Inspiron 1100 is about $500-$700 depending on what deal Dell is running. You will then have a laptop with a 1 yr warranty. You could fix this one for about $100 less but what happens when something else fails that you can't fix?

thanks... i guess i just dont wanna lose what was on it, but i prolly lost that stuff either way... i think i'll buy a new one.. any recommendations?

IBM T40 or Dell D800. 😀

What is your budget and what are your needs?

You don't necessarily have to loose everything that was on your old hard drive just buy an external enclosure take what you want off it and use it for backups.
