I have an almost brand new Antec TruePower 550W powersupply, and I'm getting ready to finally upgrade my machine. Essentially, I'm keeping everything in my current system, except: I already have 1GB (2x512) of Corsair DDR400 on the way.

So, I need the motherboard and processor. I want a socket 939 board, and I'll probably get an A64 3000 or 3200+ 90nm. I've been out of the computer loop for about a year now (haven't upgraded hardly anything), and now I hear about certain A64 motherboards being incompatible with certain Antec PSUs. Well, since I spent a fair amount on this PSU, I really, REALLY don't want to replace it, so I need to make sure the motherboard I get will work fine with it.

Recommendations?

no, i dont think there are incompatibilities. the only thing i can think of is that this psu doesnt come with a 6-pin 12V connector, those are required by agp-pro and pcie graphic cards. there is no native connector and no adapter at this psu so u need to buy it extra or in some cases the graphics card itself will have a adapter included.

as for a mobo id suggest a ABIT AV8, ASUS A8V or MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum S939 NF3. If u wanna go for nforce 4 which is the only chipset for AMD`s supporting pcie then go for another one...here in europe these boards are hard to get and they are not cheap like about 180,- with SLI and 150,- without SLI. MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum or (with SLI) the MSI K8N Neo4 Diamond. there are some others too i dont know if u really want nforce 4 or not. there is no other advantage compared to nforce3 than the support for pcie.
