I'm building a 1gigahertz Thunderbird system which will be part of a cluster of systems used for doing computations. I'm looking for a system that has 4RAM slots or more for maximum expandibility. The latest video AGP support or audio stuff isn't important. What motherboards would you recommend for this at the lowest price?

I don't think I've ever seen a Tbird mobo with 4 DIMM slots. Why do you need 4 slots?

I dont see why you want 4.... most only use 3 for a reason. KT133A is limited to 1.5GB of RAM, which 3 slots will fill perfectly fine.

A note about the KT133* based and i815 based motherboards with 4 DIMM slots. The last two slots can have:

1: A single double sided DIMM (one slot empty, one full)
2: A single single sided DIMM (one slot empty, one full)
3: Two single sided DIMMs of the same size and specs (both full)
4: both empty

Two double sided DIMMs will not work.
