Motherboard vs. Single Board

Does any one know what is the advantage of having a motherboard in a 2u chassis instead of single board and what is the disadvantage.

what does that mean ?

a 2u is the size of case, it doesn't have 2 motherboard in it.. its still single board.. assuming you mean single board as single motherboard ?

Perhaps in this instance, Jamil had a passive backplane type system in mind as the "usual" rackmount server chassis. Those have little in the way of electronics on them, just several high speed slots in which PC's on add-in boards are inserted.

Why don't you either define your term "single board" in some manner, or try asking in a language you can use better than English, if English wasn't your birth language. Quite likely we have someone here who speaks the same birth language.

It's hard to answer when a language problem has intervened, as now is my suspicion on this case. His/her terminology is possibly based on a translation problem.
