Hello, I need a new motherboard for my computer and while looking around the net I found what appears to be a pretty good deal on these

XFX - NF24-ALH or a XFX - MACH 4 - NF2S-ALH

I have a few questions if anyone knows about this stuff, 1. what is the differnce between these two boards, for I can buy them for the same price, 2. right now alls I have is a GeForce2 MX400 4x video card will this work in the 8x slot for the time being untill I upgrade.

Right now my CPU is a 1.4 gig Athlon Tbird and I have 512 megs of Samsung 266 fsb DDR memory. all of these parts I plan on upgrading but I am wondering if they will work with this motherboard untill then.

Lastly, I have a sound blaster live! 5.1 card just the basic one, I am wondering if this is better than the on board sound on these motherboards.
Any coments or sudjestions are welcome. Thanks

Post a link to the mobos if you can that way we can see the different specs and make a better decision.

Your video card will work in an 8x AGP slot, you just run it at 4x is all.

And your current parts will work fine in your mobo, the Tbird is a Socket A as I assume the mobos are until I find out what they are, but from their model numbers they look like nForce 2 boards. Depending on the mobos your sound card could be better or worse, if those mobos are full SoundStorm capable then definately use the onboard as it performs better and offers better output. Otherwise just use the Live.
