I'm planning on upgrading, and i don't intend to overclock my cpu, or use onboard sound/video. Is there a good kt266 mobo i can get, thats cheap (< $150), stable and fast? I'm gearing towards the epox 8kha because its cheap and i heard good things about it. (i heard its stable too) I'm also looking at the new 333s that just came out too, but those are bound to be expensive 😛

For a no frills KT266A mobo the Epox is the most popular, also consider the Shuttle AK31 which is $20 cheaper.

Make sure it's the 266A 8KHA+, not the 266 no plus.

8kha+ is based on via kt266a chipset
8kha is based on via kt266 chipset

the kt266a chipset is the next upgrade from the kt266, and its a whole lot better/faster 🙂

the 8kha+ is faster then the 8k7a, but its not much faster

you would be better off just getting a faster cpu to put on it 🙂
the 8k7a supports all the new athlonxp cpu's
