Motherboard that has 8x AGP & RDRAM, & CPU recomendations please!

Hi,
This is my first post here!
I am looking to upgrade my mainboard and CPU. I have existing RAMBUS memory that I would like to recycle into the new unit. I would like to get the best mainboard available that has 8x AGP capability, but not many new boards seem to support the RDRAM memory. I am also looking to buy a new cpu, so please give me any advice you may have on what you would recommend as far as spped and AMD vs P4. Thanks in advance!

Well, I'm nexpert on P4 chipsets, but I believe that there are no RDram chipsets with AGP 8x support, that said 8x AGP doesn't really matter.

Only PIIIs and P4s have RDram chipsets btw, there are no Athlon chipsets that use RDram. Depending on your RDram(PC800?), you may be limited as to which P4 you can use with it(disregarding the rams potential overclocking capability. If your RDram is an older variety and you want a 533mhz P4, you'll likely need to replace the ram, in which case you'd be better of going with DDR SDram IMO, this would open up both the P4 and Athlon as an option..

Thanks for the reply. The existing memory I have is PC800, so what are the limitations on the P4 CPUs with this memory?

The newer 533mhz fsb P4s would only work with that PC800 if the PC800 can be overclocked, not really worth taking the chance if money is an issue(I assume that it is since you want to use that particular ram). An older P4 using the 400mhz fsb will work fine though.

Also, do you have 2 sticks of ram or just 1? I believe that all current P4 RDram mobos require 2 sticks of ram, I could be wrong about this though.
