Motherboard temperatures

I'm having problems. My E6600 on P5B-E Plus won't boot above 360MHz FSB (using ram good to DDR2-1066) (i've tried 450MHz Fsb, 400MHz fsb, down at 6* multiplier). At 360, Orthos has just failed after 11 minutes.

At the instant of failure (I think - more-or-less), Asus PC Probe has alerted saying my motherboard temp is too high at 45 degrees. This seems like a low temperature to me. Should I set the threshold higher? Or is my motherboard really getting too hot? Could the threshold cause Orthos to fail?

Have you tried setting the temp threshold lower to see if the Asus alarm is the cause of the Orthos failure?
