Motherboard Temp Problems

Greeting all
I have a KT333 Chipset MSI KT3 Ultra Motherboard.
512 meg Ram
Athlon XP 1800 CPU

the Motherboard came with a fan on the chipset (40mm x 10mm) It went out and I replaced it with a 40mm x 20 mm) but I had to mod it slightly to make it fit into place.

The temp reads 50 C. Is this hot for a motherboard? My CPU on full load is only at 41 C.

Thanks

Jam

They are not hot but rather unusual for a mobo chipset to reach 50C even with a fan.

Your CPU on load cannot be 41 on air cooling unless ur in a really really chilled envoirement.

40 C is what most of us get on idle considering room temp of around 30-35C.

i suspect that display is false but thats common these days especially on low end parts.
