Motherboard swapping.

I took old one out, and am ready to put new one.
Do I just plug in everything back on the new board, or should I format the hard drive and reinstall everything.
All hardware componets are same but motherboard.
Thanks.

Put it all in/ Bootup, and if you have any probs, boot to safe mode, & Remove all components in Device Manager, works for me every single time, then let windows put the drivers back in, it may take a couple boots.... and if it dosn't work, all you lost is some time, It does work here for me tho.

You might get by without formatting. I did when I upgraded from via's ss7 chipset(forgot name) to abit kt7.

The chipsets are so close to the same thing that you should not have any trouble with it. The Via stuff is all using the same driver set so there will not be any major changes.

Most of your redetected items will be from IRQ changes going from one board to the other.
