Motherboard swapping question

I have ordered a CUSL2 to replace my ageing SiS mobo. Unfortunately I cannot reinstall Windows98 as that would overwrite all of my saved stuff. Is there a way I can safely swap the mobo's over without buggering everything up? Wasnt there mentioned some while ago about deleting a registry key?

I'd appreciate any help as this being my only machine, Id like to keep it going 😀

TIA,

Scott

You can boot into safe mode, delete all the drivers, etc and let it redetect or
boot into safe mode and install win98 on top of the existing running version - wont erase
