I know, everyone hates these topics but Im gonna do it anyway. I need a new motherboard and would like a few suggestions. Luckily I should be able to help narrow it down.

First, my hardware. This is the stuff Ive got:

Power Supply - 750Watt PC Power & Cooling
CPU - Core 2 Duo E8400
Mobo - ???
Mem - 4GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1066
Video - XFX GeForce 8800GTX x2 SLi
Sound - SB X-Fi Gamer
HDD - 500GB Seagate SATA PerpRec
DVDRW - Lite-On
BluRay - Lite-On

Second, here what I'd like. Its simple really, I want a good stable board that's gonna let me use my cards in SLi with as little trouble as possible. Perhaps the key to the whole thing......I am not going to Overclock anything at all!! So, stability with SLi but no overclocking is going to be done.

So, any ideas?

I'm not sure if it is just my board or not, but my asus p5n-d (750i chipset for sli capability) doesn't play well with my x-fi extrememusic (pci)

Not really to concerned on price. Of course, the cheaper the better but if i have to pay more to ensure performance and stability thats fine with me.

I'm in your situation right now.

My Asus P5B-deluxe just died. I'm looking closely at the Asus P5Q Pro....seems very popular here w/ many folks. Also, that Gigabyte MB (can't recall the mod #) is very good as well, again based on member comments I've seen...

since you want to go SLI, I would recomend either the evga 750i FTW or the evga 780i or evga 780i FTW. I have not heard great things about asus nvidia mobos, I would recomend Evga. I currently have a 780i ftw, its a good board, just needs a bios update, which has been neglected so far.
