I was hoping for some motherboard suggestions please. Here is my new board and more information regarding my needs following.

e6850
EVGA 768-P2-N831-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI
SUPER TALENT 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop x2
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - Retail
Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM x2
SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
Antec P182SE Silver Mirror-finished stainless steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI ATX12V 700W Power Supply - Retail
SHARP Black 32" 16:9 6ms 1080p LCD HDTV w/ ATSC Tuner Model LC-32GP1U - Retail
Samsung 24in monitor as well, The good one.

I don't really care about SLI cuase two monitors is more important for me then SLI. Also, WIFI on the board would be a plus but not really needed if you have another board in mind with great features and cheaper. No budget, i will pay for the right board, But also, i would not mind saving 100 dollars here and their on this build.

the only kind of overclocking i might be doing will be desktop kind, meaning, i probably aint going to mess with much, just maybe push it 10-15 percent or less.

The real thing here is I just don't need TWO PCIe Slots, but no great boards are available with out them. Thanks in advance for your time and considerations.

as for mobo something P35 based would probably be best - abit, Asus, Gigabyte & MSI all have pretty good mobos out.

Oh, cool, Will that work with any maker board, cause, if so, then that opens up tons of choices? thanks so much. How do you like my build, as well? Any suggestions on that.

Also, let me be more clear, I need WiFi out, not Wifi in. I think thats called WiFi AP?
Just like my previous board the Asus p5wDH Deluxe.

it will work with any mobo that has a spare x1 (or higher) PCI-E slot.
Build looks fine although I would probably go for an even better cooler with a 120mm fan myself.

Thanks Serpentroyal, thats a nice little board and I think its right up my ally. I am just concerned about the my memory and that board and if it will do the e6850 justice as well.

Board is good up to 488MHz FSB and has plenty of juice to drive your CPU and any RAM. I would recommend quality DDR2 800 RAMs rated at 1.8V operation. Those el-cheapo $17 AR 1GB HP DDR2 667 sticks (hot deals forum) also run fine on this board. You can bump Vdimm up to 2.0 for a stable 400MHz speed.

Yea, totally cool, been studying this and the Abit board SerpentRoyal suggested. What an amazing pair, and LOADS of Rebates. I am stunned, this was exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks for all the help SerpentRoyal and Heidfirst. I am going with both the products you suggested unless something changes or more suggestions come thru. really top notch advice. Thanks so much.

Do i need that kind of PSU Power for my system, or can I go with a bit less?

what you need & what is desirable are often 2 different things.
No, you don't need that much but
1) do you want to have something running flat out or cruising with something in hand?
2) room for future expansion

Wow, how do you find these things, and will this be enough for me and my build, I dont really plan to expand, and if i do, it will be with a new board, and PSU and Xtra video card. So, really not a big deal till then. But, will that PSu work for me, is it enough?

i was also wondering if this board is full HDtv ready. And if so, whats a tv card with remote to record and save all my shows?

Yes, board has HDMI audio header. Get the PSU now or it will go OOS. Plenty of juice to drive any single GPU board, and probably SLI, too.

Yea... this is good stuff. I did need to go with the Raid version of this board, If i am going that way is there another solution that might include SLI in the future for 150ish?

I forgot to say that Onboard sound is actually a minus, as It will be turned off. I am more concerned about Hidef TV. I will have the soundblaster x-fi pro. Ooo, nevermind. things are going to change so much between now and sept 10. Lets see what i come up with then, but for now, its fun to plan.

Thanks so much for all your help so far, really tops.

IP35 version has RAID, but you'll need to spend about $120. It's the same board as IP35-E. I value data safety over a small improvement in HDD speed, even though I religiously image my OS. Therefore, no RAID for me. KISS. As for SLI, it's always cheaper to go with one GPU, because there's always a faster GPU down the road for about 1/2 the price of your old dual GPU rig.

yea, totally understand. My problem is this. I have used raid and lost my data. I have used SLI but just cant stand that manual switch to use my second monitor. Here I will be using a 32 1080p monitor and a 24inch samsumg (the good one). That card is outstanding for this, One at 1900x1080 (the 32 inch TV) and one at 1900x1200(24inch). I think this card will power this setup well. i do music production to I usually duel boot, one for games and one for production with a pro sound card. This time though, I will actually be going with the Soundblaster x-fi pro with breakout box and not duel booting. I have had sound cards from 1k dollars to 100 dollars and once you know how to make good stuff, the quality is all the same really and i am almost entirely software synths now, so need little inputs.
The other thing thats important is I want to have a HI def TV tuner and be able to record and watch 2 separate channels at the same time. My current Cable box DVR does this for me but I have little options after that, No burn to disk nor avi support, etc etc. I have no clue what a good Tv tuner is and how its going to work for me. Do i use it in conjusction with my current box, or get rid of the cabloe box and just use the TV card.
I buy the high end stuff for longevity really not speed. Anyways, thanks again, and Great review on that motherboard, i am almost sure its the one for me. We will see with the new chipsets coming out at the beggining of Sept though.
