Hey guys I have an annoying, I mean very annoying problem with my motherboard and it's attachment to the case. Well the issue is: There's one last screw on the motherboard that was probably tightened a little too hard. By doing so, the screw ultimately was tightened enough to bound on the standoff. In which allowing the standoff to twist at the same time when trying to unscrew the screw. Now it gets more complex: the standoff isn't able to twist out even with lifting the motherboard at the same time to create an upward force while unscrewing. What's frustrating is that, in the back of the motherboard plate in which the standoffs are attached the standoffs stick out a little so that maybe I could use pliers to hold the standoff down then simply unscrew the tightly bound screw. However in the my situation the standoff doesn't stick out at all, thus making the possible solution impossible. In any case, I don't believe that the screw is stripped at all, just that it's stuck on the standoff.

Any suggestions would be greatly, I mean GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

Turn the screw the standoff turns, right? The standoff threading is stripped not allowing the mobo to come off the tray? If the standoff is stripped and you have access to it drill it out from the back with a 7/64 bit , the standoff is prob brass so it should be easy. Re-tap the mobo tray with same size 6-32 and replace the standoff.
