I hope this doesn't seem like a stupid question.... Anyway.

Here is a link to the motherboard I have: Epox.

The board supports VIA VT8233 full-duplex integrated sound (is this 5.1)?

In this motherboard I have my soundcard... Soudblaster Live 5.1! (this is 5.1).

The question I have is about my new Logitech 5300 THX 5.1 setup. Both my motherboard audio the sound blaster live say they support 5.1. However there is only 1 audio out jack for the mother board and sound card? My new speakers have three plugs one for front, one for rear, and one for center (green, black, and orange).

Where do these plug into or how do they plug into the one audio out 5.1 sound card or mother board? Is there supposed to be some kind of adapter, I didn't see one? I won't have my audigy 2 until June.

Thank you,

James

If the onboard sound supports 5.1 ANALOG output, then there should be three plugs: normally line in, mic in, and line out. Somewhere in the software, you should be able to reassign the jacks to be line out, surround out, sub/center out. OR you need to get a seperate bracket that attaches to the motherboard that gives you a surround out and sub/center out. check your manual, one or both options may be available.

As for the SB Live 5.1, the three line outs should be marked on the back of the card. I'm looking at one right now, and you need to use the green, black, and orange plugs.

For the logitech speakers, green=fronts, black=surrounds, and orange=sub/center.
Choose one sound card, and ditch the other one. No need to confuse the computer with two sound cards.

Thanks for the info.... the documentation they sent with the speakers didn't say much at all.
