I just bought a k6-2 450 to upgrade my dad's socket 7 computer. I have never used a K6-2 b4. I need to know all the motherboard settings. CPU Internal clock speed Jumper, CPU Speed Jumper, and the Multiplier I need to know the settings of those.

Well, all you need to know is that it runs at 100Mhz bus. 450/100 is a 4.5 multiplier. The chip says 2.2v right on it too, I think. Check it out.

As for what a "CPU Internal clock speed Jumper" and "CPU Speed Jumper" is up in the air. Is that your version of the names for these jumpers, or off of the board? You just need to set voltage, bus speed, and multiplier. If "CPU Internal clock speed Jumper" has something to do with making the memory/CPU run at different rates (either 100/100 or 66/100) then set things to be 1:1 if you have PC100 memory. CHange it if not or if you're not sure and things crash.

Only Super7 boards support 100fsb. Otherwise use the 75fsb and set the board to 2X. The 2X remaps to 6X. If you run 66fsb then you only get 400MHz (6X multiplier * 66MHz fsb = 400MHz), but with the jump to 75fsb you get 450MHz.

And check for 2.2v operation..

2.5v is not too much if thats all the lower you can go.

Wouldn't you agree, Zach?

Some K6-2 450s came as 2.4v (?) parts, but its clearly marked on the CPU. Had one running for my ex-GF in a SOYO mobo 5-EHM, if I recall. Try to download the PDF for your mobo manual, should reveal all. The options for differrent FSB and memory are to support 10ns SDRAM if I recall, could also require slowing down for the mobo cache??

Id stop at 2.4v, and since we don't know geek167's knowledge I was hoping not to encourage him to go for over powering it. :)

Then again, I run an MMX Pentium in a motherboard without split voltage..
