40 degrees idle. It can't jump that fast right? When I go from full load to Idle, it jumps straight from 64 to 44. I know I posted problems like this before, but I kinda disregarded it since my computer passed the 24 hour prime stress test. After playing some starcraft though, my comp crashed to the blue screen.

Before I just thought it was the motherboard sensors, but now with the crash the temps might be true.

What cpu? What type of heatsink? What type of thermal grease do you have. Check you heat sink maby its is not on properly. Check you thermal grease maby its worn off or needed to be reaplied. is there alot of dust on the heatsink is ur comp dusty. How many fans do you have.

maby you overclocked it by accedient jsut saying. check your clock speed is it difrent form stock. also what i do is take the temp of how hot the heat sink is it self. What i do is i have a infared temprature thing i got for $15 I have a nitro RC car so I can monitor the cars engine heat. Well you can also get your finger an tuch the metal on the heat sink and if its hot or warm and you can tell if it is 64C because thats hot. like it will be buring hot becarful whjen you touch it if it is 64C and chek tou cpu's fan speed maby its not functioning properly or fast enogh. And try reseting your bios and mack sure cool and quite is enabled. If that does not work you should call up AMD tech support there very helpful see what they have to say. And remeber the heatsink can not be able to slide when you touch it or move it a little it should be solidly down and cant be moved.

Also what program are you geting thous temps from. go to the bios and get the temp. What mobo do you have ?

lol sry I tried all that and all your suggestions where mentioned in my post about this more than a month ago. I think i'ma just downclock this. I was hoping other people would post similar experiences where their temps skyrocketed 20 degrees, and then shot back down 17 in 1 second.

C'mon d00d, you've been here long enough to know to post the rig specs, or at least mobo & CPU.

My Neo2 does the same crap, & i don't really believe it can be true.

It supposedly idles around 40-45C, & under load it hits 60-65C

Yet i really doubt it.
