Very soon I will be building 3 systems (nearly identical) for my brother, a friend and myself.
At first, considering I currently run an A7V333, I was set on using Asus again. However, after reading through the A7N8X thread, I'm unsure if I want to burden my brother and friend with the meticulous nature of this motherboard. I'm unable to discern whether the issues caused are mostly from users or from a precarious board, and I'm not sure I want to take the chance to experience it.
I went back to research and found that the Gigabyte 7N400 Pro board is being praised, but then I read the thread about sound issues. My brother plans to use an Audiophile sound card and do high level music creation and recording, so I want to avoid sound related issues. I noticed this particular problem was caused by the use of an ITE chip (?) - will I be able to avoid using this feature and its problems? I've only been researching the 7N400 Pro for a day so far, so I'm not too familiar with it.
Basically, my friend and I will use the machines for typical desktop work and gaming, and I may overclock a little. My brother will use it for general sound and multimedia work. Is there an NForce2 Ultra motherboard that will satisfy these needs with stability?
I'm beginning to lean back towards the Asus simply because I know what slight issues to expect and how to rectify them.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
