Motherboard restarts post

I rma'd a dead asus avn266-vm board to newegg. The new board is restarting during post. Once windows goes after a couple restarts it works ok. ne ideas why its restarting in post? i have a 1700+ xp and 256 crucial ddr

Any diagnostic LED's come with the board to let you know which part of POST is restarting it?? Lol this may sound weird but makre sure your num lock is coming on the keyboard. I've heard of some 6 pin mini-din's on keyboard's actually shorting 4/5 boots and then it works fine. Also try reseating RAM and loosen timings if you have touched any of them

No LED's and ASUS tech support svcks my doggies xxxx. I reseated the RAM, mabye that'll help it.

Symptom sounds like Vcore is simply a tad low to boot stably into Windows.

Bump your Vcore one step in BIOS and see if the problem goes away.

Hope this helps!
