Ok, from what i understand, when you replace a motherboard in a computer without formatting the hard drive, the results are often hit-or-miss (i.e., the computer often won't post after that). Is this a result of the mobo chipset not always being the same?
In other words, if i get a different motherboard with the same chipset from the same company, what's the likelihood that there will be trouble moving the OS/components to the new one?
