I've got a used motherboard on my hands that fails to POST, and I see that a (Socket A) processor won't stay in. The top (moving) layer of the ZIF socket is loose - even after being latched it can slide top to bottom, and the latch moves with it.
I'm pretty sure I did this to it myself with heavy heatsink abuse, so I'd like to know if I can get this thing repaired, even if I have to replace the socket (and if so, how do I do that?). I doubt RMA or warranty coverage is an option, as it's a bit old and I likely did the damage myself.
