Motherboard Recommendations for a 1st Build

This my first build I looking for recommendations for a motherboard I am kind of leaning towards a P4 socket 775 processors, I don?t need any video onboard but I do need headers for Sonata front mounted USB 2.0 & audio & IEEE 1394. I will be running XP media edition.

I not going to do any over clocking, but I do want to make it as quite as possible and an easy setup and install.

I also need some ideas for a video card something in the $100-$150 range, i'm not going to do any hardcore gaming but i will be doing some.

And lastly I current have a Nec DVD/Writer ND-3550a, would you recommend another DVD/Writer, a DVD or a CD/Writer

Purchases so Far..

Antec Sonata with a 380 True Power Supply
Maxtor 100 GB SATA
Seagate 120 GB Ultra ATA
Nec Floppy FD1231
Nec DVD/Write ND-3550a
Microsoft XP Media Edition

thanks for all your help.....

intel prescott and quiet don't fit in the same sentence, IMHO. And 380w with Intel and a decent video card is running into problem later..

What brand of video card you planed? And what P4 you planned?

For p4 775, get an Asus board.
