Motherboard Recommendation

Hi everyone,

I'm starting university this fall and I'm thinking of building my own computer. I won't be doing over-clocking-- just the usual essay writing, multi-tasking, and a little gaming. I have some parts from a comp I built 3 yrs ago (NF4 Lan party DFI)

Here are the old parts:

FSP Group power supply 550 watts
BFG,PCIE card 9600
75G Raptor

I'm looking at Intel based chip set and E8500 cpu maybe...

Need your recommendation on motherboard and memory and whatever else you think would be good.
