I'm looking into building my dad a newer computer for Christmas. Does anyone have a recommendation for a relatively low-cost motherboard? Performance is less of an issue for him. I already have an Athlon XP 2800 and some PC133 lying around and I'd like to use those if possible. Thanks for the help!

I would recommend pairing that XP 2800+ with some PC2700 DDR ram. With PC133 ram, the processor will report as XP 2000+. However I can recommend the following motherboard for a few reasons

1. It has 2 DDR slots and 2 SDRAM slots so you can choose use PC133, and upgrade to DDR later.
2. Though this board doesn't officially support a 166Mhz FSB, there are many places you can get a cracked BIOS for this board. This special BIOS will allow you pair the 2800+ with PC2700 DDR ram when you choose to upgrade to it.
3. Finally, this is a very cheap board that has been proven in my shop to be very stable and a strong performer.
