I've got an old celeron 633 and a bunch of other parts laying around and a I want to start learning linux and maybe gaming with it a little. My first question is what motherboard should I get? Are there drivers available for all motherboards?? I'm probably looking for something cheap (around $80) and simple with at least 4 PCI slots. I was thinking I would start with Redhat. I'm also going to check out the linuxnewbie website. Are there any other good resources on the net that I should look at. I've worked with freeBSD a little bit, so I'm hoping that will help. Any help is appreciated.

Well, you don't actually need drivers for a motherboard. The chipset needs drivers (for the ide channels), but all the chipsets on modern boards are supported no problem. The only thing that may need extra drivers are motherboard peripherals like onboard sound or video, though most of that stuff is supported too. You can probably find a simple one for pretty cheap. Mwave.com has a Biostar M6VCI for $66 that would work perfectly. 5 pci slots, agp slot, and would take your 633 Celeron without problems.
