I have a Shuttle AK32A Socket A (VIA 266A) mother board with a Duron 1.6 Applebred in there that I know I can push pretty high if I can use better RAM. The mobo is rated by Shuttle for DDR 1600 and 2100 so my question is....can I use 2700 in there? (it has settings up to 166 FSB)

Thanks.

Sure can. The mainboard dictates the clock rate, and the ratings you find on a DIMM are always the maximum allowed frequency. Since there is no relevant lower limit to RAM operating speed, you can use a faster-rated DIMM on an older, slower machine.
