OK, so I finally gave in with the crazy RAM prices and will upgrade my RIG.
Planning to purchase:
E6420
4X1GB Decent DDR2
Nice OCin'g Mobo
So the dilemma I face, is that I had decided on the EVGA 650i ultra board. Don't need SLI, or any of the extras that a lot of the high end boards come with.
However, I noticed the maximum voltage allowed for RAM is 2.1V.
I was planning to buy the Ballistix 1000mhz sticks from mwave (what a steal btw), but the specs require 2.2V.
So should I get a different mobo? Perhaps the Gigabyte 650i SLI?
Or get different RAM? Don't think timings make much of a performance difference, for the bandwidth in my opinion is worth it by a bit more, so hence want the 1000mhz crucials.
Appreciate any and all input you guys have.
Thanks.
