Motherboard RAID experiences?

I plan on using the motherboard?s RAID1 on the next PC I build. No idea which board at this point. I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with any sort of drive failures in this environment? Either drive death or bad sectors or whatever?

I had no problem with any of that. My problem was that the plastic header that eclosed the mobo pins pulled out with the SATA cable, and in trying to replace it, I broke one of the pins. So - I disabled the 2 mobo ports and put in a PCI RAID/SATA card.

But, while it was connected, the RAID 1 function was excellent.
